Merchant navy fee for UG courses

The Merchant navy, its mandatory for all the candidates to undergo pre-sea training after the completion of their courses. The Maritime Training Institute conducts the pre-sea training for the candidates. Be it Marine Engineering or The Maritime Catering programme. Depending upon the programme pursued by the candidate the duration of training can vary from six months to one year.

1. 4 years B.E(Marine Engineering) course

(i) Accommodation 20,000

Tentative Schedule of Fee details(per year)

2. Admission & Registration 5,000
3. Off-Campus Charges 4,000
4. Examination Fees 2,000
5. Library charges 4,000
6. Course Materials Fee 4,000
7. Computer / Internet Access Charges 5,000
8. Practical Workshop Training 8,000
9. Engineering Design Project Work 2,000
10. Marine Workshop & Afloat Training 10,000
11. STCW Course 4,000
12. Sports & Welfare 4,000
13. Medicals 2,000
14. Electrical & Electronics Lab 4,000
The following will be charged by AMET through Bank Draft form Students directly
(ii) Mess 52,000
Total 1,90,000
(a) Caution Money (Refundable) at the time of admission only 5,000
(b) Uniform and Books 15,000
Same fee applies for consecutive year. No Capitation fee. No Donation. Fees once paid is not refundable.

2. 3 YEARS B.Sc (Nautical Science) Course

Same fee applies for consecutive year. No Capitation fee. No Donation. Fees once paid is not refundable.

Fees of Government institution will be nearly 2.5 lakhs per annum and 5-6 lakhs of private institutions.

If you are a merit student, you can avail the scholarship of 1 lakh per year offered by Government of India.

If your parents are unable to support you after joining Indian Maritime University Kolkata/Mumbai campus you can apply to DMET/MERI ex-cadets association for help. This help is provided to Meritorious students.
