B.Sc in shipbuliding and repairing

Shipbuilding is the construction of ships & other floating vessels at shipyards. B.Sc in shipbuilding and repair is a Bachelor of Science Degree Course. In this course, the main focus is on Shipbuilding and repair. For this Shipbuilder are professionals who have the Knowledge about the ship-building such as design, drawing planning, construction & ship.

This course educates & train the student in ship-building technology with a view to perform shop floor work at ship-building & ship repair industries. This Bachelor’s Degree course consists of both theoretical as well as practical sessions

COURSE TYPE:

It is a Bachelor of Science Degree Course(B.Sc).

DURATION:

It is a 3 years long course. It is designed as a combination of lecture, practical, workshop and job training at a shipyard.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Candidate must have passed 12th standard with science stream (PCM) from a recognized board.
  2. Aspirate must have scored at least 60% aggregate marks in 12th board.
  3. Candidate must have also scored at least 50% marks in English.

AGE LIMIT:

The Candidate aspiring to pursue this course should have age between 17 to 25 years.

MEDICAL STANDARDS/PHYSICAL FITNESS:

Along with the educational qualification, medical standards are also given much importance due to the fact that after completion of course candidate may have to work under a testing condition in a ship. Eyesight requirement is 6/6. Candidate must be physically fit.

ADMISSION PROCESS:

Admission is based on the merit list of the candidate. Deserving candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored by them in the entrance exam conducted by the institute.
